BLYGAIN’S TELEGRAPH SOHO WINS OREENMEADOWS FAVOURITES’ POOR. DAY (Per Press Association.) NAPIER, last, night. Glorious weather conditions prevailed for the second day of the Napier'Park races. There was a large attendance and the track was in excellent- order. The totalised or handled £BB6B Ids, an increase of £3533 10s on the second day of hist year and an increase of £5165 IDs for the meeting,.
Omahn Handicap.—s Curie (Burgess), 1; 4 Lord Hereford, 2; 2 Tareha, 6. Also ran: 1 Royal Routine, 3 Lady Wessex. Royal Routine headed the field past the stand the first time round with Curie last. Round the hack. Lady Wessex moved up, and id- the Lend Taveha was handily placed. Tareha led into the straight, with Curie still last, Imt a furlong from home Curie came through to win easily by two lengths from Lord Hereford. Lady Wessex followed Tareha. Time, 2.9 2-5.
Trial Handicap.—l Kerens (Anderson), 1: 4 King’s Hope, 2: 7 Allmetic. 3. Also ran: 3 Agog, 5 T’ujiai, 11 Epidos, 10 Triumph, 8 Clavereourt, 2 Asset, 6 Grey -Molly, 9 -Moil Ace. The -field was well strung out at the start, Asset leading from King’s Hope, Nereus and Allmetic. Entering the straight Asset ran off the track, leaving King’s Hope in front, but the favourite came through with a strong challenge to win by two lengths from King’s Hope, who was half a length clear of Allmetic. Agog was fourth. Time, 1.14 4-5.
Telegraph Handicap.—s Blygain, 1 : 4 Hmjter’s Morn, 2 : 3 Tycoon, 5. Also ran: 2 Quake, 1 Gironde, 6 Recitation, 6 Hunting Spy, 9 Molnia. 8 Royal Solo. Hunter’s Morn got away to a had start, but soon took the lead, heading Ihe field to the straight, where the field was well bunched, and a good finish saw Blygain salute the judge a length to the good, Hunter’s Morn a length ami a half in front of Tycoon. Gironde was fourth. Time, 1.13 2-5. Greemnondows Handicap.—3 Soho (Marsh), 1; 1 Gay Hunter, 2;* 2 King’s Lancer, 3. Also ran : 4 Hamarin, 5 Black Fox, 6 Maahaimi. The tapes lilted to a ragged start, from which Maahanni went to the front, followed by Black Fox. These two led the Held to the straight, where Soho came through from last and scored a comfortable win by a length from Gay Hunter, who was lj lengths in front of King’s Lancer. Hamarin was fourth. Time, 1.55 1-5. Kuito Handicap.—3 Screen Star (Caveney), 1; 2 Money Raid, 2; 1 Son and Heir, 3. Also ran : 5 Lindrum, 4 Kalika, 7 Mary Rose, 6 Tullamore, 8 Etzel. Money Raid was the first out from a poor start followed by Screen Star and Son and Heir, this being the order right to the last few yards, where, in a great finish, Screen Star got home by a neck, with a head between the next two. Tullamore was fourth. Time, 1.2.
St. Patrick’s, Handicap.—2 Sansfoy (Forsyth), 1; 1 Passion Flower, 2; 5 Wasteland, 3. Also ran: 3 Pemiycomequiek, 4 Lavina. Wasteland led all the way to the straight, whene Sansfoy and Passion Flower fought out the finish, the former winning easilv. Lavina. was fourth, Time, 1.27.
Wharerangi Handicap.—l Luenllus Lac (Marsh), 1: 2 Blygain, 2; 4 Tractile, 3 Also rail: 3 Trailer, 6 llelois, 5 Parry, Helms and Luculhis Lad were the first out and held the lead into the straight, where Luenllus Lad went on to win easily by two lengths, half a length between second and third. Parry was fourth. Time, 1.28. 0
