BREEDING EWES EASIER OLDER SHEEP DOWN 5/BRICES AT MORRIXSVILLE Breeding ewes declined sharply in value at the Aloninsville stock sale on Friday. The Farmers’ Auctioneering Company reports that there was an extra heavy entry of all classes of store sheep, in-

eluding breeding ewes from the East Coast. North Auckland and southern districts.’ Competition was not so keen, as last week and prices all along showed a decline. In some cases of older ewes values ieceded by 4i tc> 5s a head. There were several pens or well-grown two-tooth ewea and, although competition in this class was slightly easier than in older sheep, these also showed a decline on last week’s prices. There was a gont yarding of store lambs, which were excellently competed for by dairy lartneis, and vaiues showed little alteration from last sale. Cull ewes were hard to quit. The following prices were realised lor sheep ex Tokomaru Bay and Gisborne : Best two-tooth ewes. 41s to 42s 6d: medium, 58s 7d to 30s 3d ; small, 30s (o 325: late shorn. 34s 6d: four-tooth ewes, 365; mixed age. 35s to oss on: fonr-vear ewes. 29s 9d to 32s 3d; ineyear ewes, 2Ss to 33s 6,1 (best); others. 27s to 28s; six-year owes. 25s to 6(t- other six-year ewes, 23s 6»! 1o oral and North Auckland sheep sold as follows:-Six-tooth ewes, up to 06s; four to five-year ewes. SHEEP FAIR AT TE PUKE TOKOMARU EWES LATE At the .annual sheep fair at To Puke a good yarding of both ewes and iambs came forward, but owing to tho late running of the boat from Tokomaru Bay 6000 ewes were not delivered in time for this sale; these will be offered at a supplementary sale to be held in Te Puke saleyards ori Thursday, February IS. Eight hundred five to six year ewes, ex Gisborne, realised 28s 9d; sound-mouth local ewes off clean country, 18s to 2Ss Gd, the latter price being paid for a good line of large-framed ewes on account of Mr. 8. W. Mitchell; other local ewes, according to condition and ngc, 12s Gd to 17s Gd.

In sympathy with other districts the store lamb market, was not so brisk as has been the ease in recent sales, but good lines of well-grown sorts realised satisfactory prices. Shorn Romney ewe lambs, 24s 3d; woolly black-face lambs, 12s 3d to ISs; shorn black-face lambs, to 16s 4d; smaller lambs, 8s to 11s Gd; oneshear Southdown rams, guineas to S guineas; four-tooth to fresh, fullmouth Southdown rams, l’roin 2 guineas to 5 guineas.
