According to Commodore O. G. Maineson, commander of the liner Oronsay, which visited New Zealand recently in the course of a pleasure cruise, from Australia, he was approached several times by passengers: before the ship 101 l for Now Zealand and asked if it- would be safe to go on the voyage on account of the infantile paralysis epidemic. Commodore Malhcson assured them that there was no danger, as the epidemic was j under control and the authorities had taken proper precautions.
