FORGED STAMPS

An issue of forged stamps is circulating through the British West Indies. Three valued issues, the Demo rant, and war tax stamps and the Trinidad “double-flagstaff” are being copied and sold to dealers. A slight error in the make-up of the double flagstaff issue first set collectors on the trail of the fakes. On genuine issues -only one of the two flagstaffs touches the building in the background, while on forged stamps both staffs appear to rest on tho building.
