GARDENING CIRCLE
ORMOND MEETING Members of the Ormond Women's Institute's gardening circle met on Wednesday at the home of Miss Johnstone for the monthly meeting. An invitation to visit the home of Mrs. Howard, Whalatutu, on Tuesday next, was accepted, members to make their own arrangements for transport. The animal picnic will be held now that the Health Department's restrictions are lifted. The date lias not yet been decided, but it will bo. held' at the Waihirerc Domain before the schools reopen. The month's work for the garden was read bv the convener, Mrs. Cleig. A dainty afternoon tea was served by I he hostesses, and then all look a stroll round the garden, which, although recently formed, presented a very good display. The results of the competitions were: —Victorian posy: Mrs. Long, 1; .Mrs.
Lovelock, 2; Mrs. Sheriff. 3. Vase of asters: Mrs. Lovelock, 1; Mrs. Long, 2; Mrs. Sheriff, 3. Silver beet: Mrs. Sheriff, 1 : Mrs, Long and Miss Dixon, lie, 2; Mrs. Lovelock, 3. Red beet: Miss Dixon, 1; Mrs. Sheriff, 2; Mrs. Lovelock, 3.
