PROVINCIAL EXECUTIVE TICK REGULATIONS The Poverty Bay provincial executive of the Farmers' Union met this afternoon. In the absence of the president, I Mr. J. E. Benson, tho chair was taken 'by Mr. F. S. Bowen, and there were also present Messrs. J. E. Brosnahan, T. W. Sewell, D. J. Gumming, J. E. limes, P. W. Mossrnan, P. JL Shanks, H. P.. Bull, 'I - . 11. -lours, and ,1. G. Field.

Members discussed again a matter concerning the cattle tick regulations regarding the moving of cattle from tho Coast to Gisborne. Members 1 urged that tho regulations should he stiffened up, and it wan decided to meet the inspector of stock on the. matter.

The Poverty Bay branch of (lie Women's Division of the Farmers' Union wrote advising that the Dominion president, Mrs. G." K. Wilson, would be in Gisborne this month, .and that there would hi' a- garden party in her honour at, the home of Mrs. E. R. Black ou February 19. An invitation was extended to Farmers' Union members and their wives and families. _ Members agreed to support the function wholeheartedly. The. secretary, Mr. G. Blackburn, said that the W.D.F.U. had already done good work in tho district, particularly in its housekeeping scheme. Light housekeepers were on the list in the district so far. Mr. Field urged that members should give the division its support in a practical manner. The Dominion secretary wrote advising of tho short course in wool at Massey College from Apri'» 6 to 2Z. Mr. Blackburn reported that one yonnic farmer from the Gisborne district attended last year. It wasdecided to hand the informal ion to the Gisborne Young Farmers' Club,,

Mr. F. J. Williams, Waipare, urged that the Government's proposal for the revision of land and income taxation should be considered by the head office. The secretary said that he had forwarded a copy of the Idler Io Ihe Dominion secretary.
