GOLD ROD NOT RUNNING (Reed. Feb. 12. noon.) MELBOURNE, Feb. 12. Gold Rod is not an acceptor for the St. George Stakes on Saturday. There is nothing wrong with him, as lie again pleased in track trials. Cuddle apparently has fully recovered, and went well on the tracks. She has accepted for the St. George Stakes, in which another interesting competitor will be the imported horse Plymouth Sound. who lias been performing brightly on the tracks in company with his stablemate, another imported horse, Cry Havoc.
Lynch Law is not racing on Saturday. The colt, soon after arrival .at Melbourne, sirnek himself when playing, hitting a leg with a flat shoe and causing him to co sore. The injury is very slight, and Jamieson is not fearing any serious result, although the easing in training may mean missing n rare nf C'nnlfiold.
OAPMS FOft THE 'STUD

The Epsom winner, Cnpris, is being retired to the stud. Cnpris was injured in a race shortly after fho Epsom. She recently reappeared on Ihe tracks, but her owner evidently considers she will not stand another campaign.
