The lhike of Kent, presiding to day at a dinner in aid of the (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, commented on the fact that last year 70,000 children had suffered from neglect in their homes and that a further 100,000, of whom many were babies, had been victims of ill-trcatnient.
