HELD FOR RANSOM

KIDNAPPED DOCTOR FEARS FOR HIS SAFETY WILLOW SPRINGS, Feb. 4. The Missouri authorities have disclosed that Dr. J. B. Davis, aged <57, who disappeared a week ago, was kidnapped and is held for £IOOO ransom.

The family has received a note in the physician’s handwriting stating the ransom demand. The authorities have refused to discuss the case, but it is learned that Dr. Davis’ medicine case, was found in a‘river, causing grave concern as to whether lie is alive.
