Recently, as an experiment, a number of applicants who failed to pass the medical examination for the army were given a period of physical training, during which attention was given to their nutrition.

The Secretary of War, Mr. A. Duff Goofier, informed the House of Commons that the experiment had proved successful, and its practical application on a larger scale was under consideration.
