NEW BRITISH RAIL-CAR

LOADS OF 60 TONS 49 PASSENGERS CARRIED (British Official Wireless.) Reed. 10 a.m. RUGBY, Feb. 3. A new type of Diesel rail-ear shortly will be introduced by the Great Western Railway on one of its branch lines.

The ear is based on the experience gained during the last three years from the running of 17 stream-lined singleunit rail-cars. It will be capable of taking a “tail” load of passenger or goods vehicles of up to 60 tons in weight and of performing light shunting. The ear has accommodation for 49 passengers in two saloons.
