GISBORNE CLUB EXECUTIV E ,MEETfNG H.B. CHAMPIONSHIPS Arrangements for the teams to travel to Hawke’s Bay to take part in the championships were carried a further stage at last evening’s meeting of the Gisborne* Amateur Surf and Swimming Club. There were present Messrs. C. E Brown, chairman, S. McKenzie, T. S. Wauchop, R. A. Berge, 0. Rigby, Miss H. McKnight, and the hon. secretary, Air. R. Cederwnll. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs. I' • Ellis. R. W. AicKeague, J. Cbrisp, 11. F. Forster, and Mrs. J. Heeney. Tn connection with the Kinross White Cup to be competed for at the championships in Napier, it was decided to enter the first four men in (he Swain Cup team and two others to be selected in Napier by the manager and captain. The rnp is presented to the team of six men winning a relav over n distance ot 2Covds. ‘ , , On the motion or Air. Berge. seconded by Aliss McKnight, it was decided that Messrs. A. Knight. Wauchop and AleKeague should be placed in control of the draining of the water-polo team to represent Gisborne in the Ferguson Cup match with TTeretaunga. Messrs. Cederwnll and Wauchop were appointed a sub-committee to arrange transport, for the team of Gisborne swimmers travelling to Napier. It. was resolved to hold the postponed Forster Cup river race, from Derby street bridge to Trafalgar Rotunda, at 5 p.in. next Wednesday. A discussion took place regarding a. visit, of outside swimmers to Gisborne this season, and the secretary was instructed to write to the Mount F.den Club, Auckland, in an endeavour to arrange a visit from R. Frankhnm. a New Zealand title-holder. P. Hannan, his clubmate. and Aliss Mona Leydon, the New Zealand ladv champion swimmer, and any others desirous of making the trip. It was decided, on the motion of Mr. Berge, seconded by Mr. McKenzie, that a carnival should be held next Tuesday evening, the following programme, being approved : 50yds ladies’ handicap, 50yds schoolgirls’ handicap, 66 2-3vds intermediate boys’ handicap. 66 2-3vds schoolboys’ handicap, 66 2-oyds open handicap, 150yds President’s Cup race, novelty plunge, Whataupoko Diving Cup handicap. ladies’ dive, 66 2-3yds dual relay, and ICOvds relay.
