MEMENTO FOR GOVERNOR-GENERAL.—A relic of the early days which has been accepted by the Governor-General, Lord Galway. It consists of a block of kauri gum and shells mounted by Mr. C. Tandy on a small block of hinau wood and surrounded by pressed ferns and flax gathered more than 60 years ago.
