AUCKLAND, this day. The sales tax collections in Auckland in January touched a new high level, £86,757, compared with the record monthly total for December of £85,253, showing a £16.000 increase over January. 1936,

The customs revenue for January totalled £322,825, compared with £300,594 in January, 1936. This month’s total includes motor spirit, £56,278, and tyre duty £2116. The beer excise realised £12,374.
