Major .). R, Kirk, who has been visiting Australia, has returned to Wellington.
Sir Henry and Lady Marks, Suva, arrived at Auckland by the Aorangi on a holiday visit to New Zealand.
Canon Percival James, vicar of St. Paul’s Pro-Cathedral, Wellington, will leave on February 9 on a visit to England. Mr. J. Ei. Hutton, a well-known English angler and author of "Fishing Days and Fishing Ways,” arrived at Auckland from Vancouver by the Aorangi on his second visit to New Zealand.
Mr. J. L. Napier, Dunedin, has relinquished his position as manager of Napier Motors, Limited, and has accepted a position as district sales manager for tlie South Island for the Ford Motor Company of New Zealand, Limited.
Captain R-. Stuart French, of the 11th Hussars, the new aide-de-camp to the Governor-General, Viscount Galway, arrived at Auckland from Vancouver by the Aorangi. He is to take the place of Captain A. G. W. Heber-Percy.
The newly-appointed secretary to the German Consul at Wellington, Mr. H. Kessels, has arrived at" Auckland, accompanied by his wife and daughter. Mr. Kessels has seen consular service in Dublin.
To take command of tlie Imperial sloop Wellington on the New Zealand station in succession to Commander J. 0. K. Hall, who is returning to England shortly, Commander G. N. LoristonOlarke has arrived in Auckland from Sydney.
Mr. R. W. Watson, formerly municipal engineer in Durban, South Africa, lias arrived in Wellington accompanied by Mrs. Watson, to spend a short holiday in New Zealand. Roth Mr. and Mrs. Watson were formerly residents of Kumara.
Passengers by East Coast Airways’ planes in tlie Gisborne-Napier service yesterday included Mesdames M. C. Walker, and B. A. Quaine; Misses W. Barron, 0. Barron, U. Kirk, J. Twigley, and S. Quaine : Messrs. J. R. Dixey, R. Kirkup, A. Smith, G. Crawshaw, P. Fox, Chambers, E. ITartridge, Cording, and McEarchram.
Sir Basil and Lady Brooke arrived in Auckland on Monday. Sir Basil Brooke, who is Minister of Agriculture in Northern Ireland, will observe agricultural conditions and marketing methods in New Zealand. They have come to New Zealand as guests of the Government, upon the invitation of the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage.
Major E. M. Hansel!, Cromer, England. a brother of Archdeacon Hansell, Kavori, who, with his wife, has been visiting his relatives in Wellington, is now touring the thermal district of tho North Island. Later Major and Mrs. Mansell are to tour the West Coast. They are to leave New Zealand for Australia by the jWatigapella ou February, 6.
