MAN BURNED FATALLY
EXPLOSION OF SPIRITS LIGHTING RUBBISH FIRE (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. At an inquest held to-day concerning the death of Ault Stohr, aged 73 years, a retired mariner, the coroner, Mr. E. Gilbertson, found that death was the result of septic absorption from extensive burns, accidentally received as the result of an explosion of methylated spirits when Mr. Stohr was burning rubbish. ’l’lie widow said that the deceased bad explained he lit a rubbish file with methylated spirits. lie then went, to pour more on the rubbish and the tin exploded. 'The coroner said that the fatality showed the necessity for care in the handling of explosive spirits.
