PALMERSTON N. DISPUTE STATEMENT IN TELEGRAM CR. TENNENT’S ACTION (Por Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., this day. A statement was made to-day by Or. W. B. Tennent that it was not- his intention to proceed further with any contemplated proceedings—which lie announced at. a recent meeting of the City Council —against Cr. .). | lodge ns, M.P.. in consequence of a reference 1° Or. Tennent contained in a telegram which Cr. Ilodgcns forwarded to the council three weeks ago.
Cr. Tennent said that though lm considered tho proper place for Cr. lfodgens to make a withdrawal of the statement was at the council table, he understood from people who attended a public meeting in the Opera House on September 19 that Ur. Hodgens tneve made the necessary withdrawal. Or. Tennent now regarded the matter closed.
