Tennent contained in a telegram which Cr. Ilodgcns forwarded to the council three weeks ago.

Cr. Tennent said that though lm considered tho proper place for Cr. lfodgens to make a withdrawal of the statement was at the council table, he understood from people who attended a public meeting in the Opera House on September 19 that Ur. Hodgens tneve made the necessary withdrawal. Or. Tennent now regarded the matter closed.
