BAND OF HOPE CONCERT (Herald Correspondent.) The annual Band of Hope concert, held, ju St. Andrew’s Hal), was well attended. Captain Kcnrse, oi’ the Salvation Army, presided. Following the singing ot the hymn, “Yield hot to Temptation,’’ the children repeated the pledge, after which a good programme of songs and recitations followed. The following gave items : Recitations, Colin Browne, Patricia Valla nee, David and Helen Mclntyre, Cecily and Valerie Doig, Frank' -Nugent, Cynthia Rose, Irene Matson, Will Galbraith, Ngaire Hocking, Alex Douglas and Alex Archibald; songs, Nancy Milne, Jean Archibald, Joan MeLachlan, Bessie Dnlglcish, and Noleen Browne; pianoforte solos, Marjorie Aldridge, Dolly Long, If. Pu,vmint or, J. Marshall, D. Johansen, M. Minir-li and K. Rose; nurse’s song. Winsome Crolcer, Cynthia Rose and Beatrice McPhnil; temperance! items, Nancy and Margaret MeLrlieh. “.Notable Men and Women’’ was well acted by three boys and two girls. During the' interval the Rev. N. H. Finch thanked Mrs. .1. Macdonald for the way she had trained the children, and gave some very good advice to the temperance organisers. The dialogue, “A Husband’s Economies,” was well received. Some catchy choruses were sung by the children under the leadership of Lieutenant: Stahbri.dge, and the collection and Benediction closed the meeting.

St. Andrew’s Church bazaar, promoted by the Ladies’ Guild, to be. held this week, promises to be very successful. The- Bov. Bernard Teague, of the Wairoa Methodist Church, has a very find display of tulips in the church grounds, and all >vho have seen, them are loud in praise of their variety and arrangement.

So far there has been no trace of. the missing man, Mr. Robert Templeton, who disappeared from Mr. 11. deLauitouv’s farm.
