AMERICAN PRESIDENCY COMMUNIST CHARGED MONTREAL, Oct. 1. A message from Terrc Haute (Indiana) .states that Mr. Browder, the Communist, candidate, for the Presidency, was arrested to-day and charged with vagrancy. Four colleagues, including Waldo Frank, novelist, were also gaoled. The Mayor, Mr. Bccchcr, a republican, stated that he would not allow Communism to lie established in Terro Haute. He also stated that, the Republican candidate, Mr. Alfred M. Landon, and President Roosevelt, recognised the Communist menace to the nation.
