GISBORNE SALE IMPROVED DEMAND PRICES REACH 45GNS. The seventh, annual sale of pedigree Jerseys by the Poverty Bay Jersey Cattle Clul) was held on (lie A. and i’. Showgrounds to-day. The selling was eondiieted by (lie. New Zealand Loan and .Mercantile Agency Company, limited, and .Messrs, Common. Shelton and Company, Limited, in conjunction. Alter a slow start buyers:..exhibited! keen interest in the animals offered, most of which were sold at prices showing an improvement, on last year. The top price up to lunch time was 45gns, secured Ivy Mr. E. 11. Bull, Mnnutuke, tor li is yearling bull Design Majesty, which was purchased by Air,. E. 11. Black. This bull was placed first in the yearling bull class when judged before the sale.
The next highest price during the morning was for Air. K. G. Poulgrain’s 6-year bull, Ku Ln Light Emperor, the winner in the older bull class, which was purchased by Mr. W. It. Gaddnm, Manuluke Other prices before, lunch ranged from 22gns downwards. -Much interest was displayed by Coast farmers in the sale and several animals were bought, for delivery at Tolaga Bay and in (lie Waiapu County, while buyers were also present from the Morerc and Xuhaka districts.
