NORTH EROKEN HILL LAST YEAR’S PROFITS / (Por Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Cabled advice has been received hy the Stock Exchange Association of New Zealand that the audit of the accounts of North Broken Ilill Limited for the year ended .lime 20 has been completed, and shows that the net profit of the company. after providing for depreciation, taxation, and royalties, amounted to £626.940. IMPROVED RESULTS BROWN, EWING & CO., LTD. A distinct improvement is shown in the result of the years trading . hy Brown. Ewing and Company. Limited. The net. profit for the year ended August 16 was £2179 18s 3d, against £72 18s 4(1 for the previous year. The. directors report, that, (luring the year the shop was renovated throughout. ,uid a new selling unit in keeping with a more modern layout was installed on the ground iloor. The year 1836 registered the seventieth anniversary of the establishment, ot tin* business of Brown, Ewing and Company, Limited, and the management proposed to make some special recognition of this historic event. The usual dividend of 5 per .cent on the preference shares would lie paid, and the directors recommended payment of • a dividend on the ordinary shares at .the rate of 3 per cent. After payment of these dividends; the sum of £430 9s 6d would be carried forward to next year’s accounts.
