OBITUARY

After a prolonged illness, which she boro with great fortitude, a well-known and highly respected, resident- of the Moca nee. district, Mrs. L. F. McDonald, passed away on Tuesday night at the age of 56 years. Mrs. McDonald was horn in Waipawa, and while she was at an early age her parents moved to Napier, where she was brought 1 up. She had lived about the last 30 years in the Taradalo and Mceanee districts, and was held in high esteem by the settlers. She leaves a husband and family of six sons and three daughters, including Mrs. W. Halpin. Wairoa.

With the death of Mrs. Sarah Ettry Inkpen. who died last week-end. Havelock North lost one of its most valued citizens. She was horn at Bath, Somerset. in 1860. where she met her husband. both being engaged in the W’alcot wheels as teachers, a profession in which they worked together until 132.5. their combined services aggregating nearly a hundred years from the* time of their apprenticeship. Retiring in 1926 they went first to Australia, where they stayed for 12 months, and then to New Zealand and took up residence with their daughter. Mrs. May, at Havelock North.
