(Herald Correspondent, i Following a cold snap in Wniroa on Tuesday there was a lignt, frost on Wednesday morning. Mrs. 11. L. Taylor presided at, the monthly meeting of the Clydebank branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers' Union. The final arrangements for the celebration of the birthday of the division were made, and a' report of tbe recent conference was well received. The monthly competition; a plate of pikelets, resulted : Miss N. Taylor, 1 ; Mrs. 11. Taylor, 2; Mrs. J. ..ovd, 3. Mrs. Mcßimiie was the judge. judgment summons orders were- made in the following cases in the Wniroa Alagi.M rate’s Court yesterday:—V. E, Winter and" Son, Limited, v, W. lidwards, £l9 18s 6d, to he paid at the rate of £2 per month ; same v. Jack Hawkins, 2s, to lie pjiid at the rate of 10s per month.
An unusual mob, 30 two-vrar halfdraught horses, recently travelled through by tbe Rotorua-Waikaremoana i onto. They are unbroken and their final destination is the Wnirnrapa. When (he railway comes this way Wairoa will be sending many similar drafts away. Robert Hilliard Cooper, Taliaenui, labourer, has been adjudged a bankrupt.
Miss E. Stanton, Hastings, was a week-end visitor to Wniroa. —Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Whyte, who have been visiting Gisborne, have returned to Mahia.— •Mr. N. Butcher, until recently clerk of (he court in Wairoa, left for Wellington yesterday morning, and his successor, Mr. A. If. Gibson, Christchurch, that day took over his duties here.—Mrs. W. Whyte, Lucknow street, Wairoa, and her 'small granddaughter, Patty Whyte, who have been visiting Mrs. Colley, Napier, have returned home.—Miss L. Perry, Remuera, Auckland, who has been staying in Gisborne, visited Wairoa. on Tuesday.—Mrs. C. E. Moorhouse, Christchurch, is staying with her son in Queen street, Wairoa
