EXPONENT WINS GAME i WOMEN'S TITLE PLAY FIRST - ROUN D MATCHES (Reed. Sept. 29. 3 p.m.) LONDON. Sept. 28. Miss 'Gloria Minoprio, a 25-year-old golfer, who uses only one club, a number one iron, won her first match in the English women's championship at Hayling, beating Miss G. .lames, who used a full set of woods and irons. 4 up and 3. Miss Minoprio wore a blue trousered suit and a tight fitting jersey. She says she, is convinced that a successful game can bo built up with one club. Other first-round winners were the titleholder, Mrs. M. Garon, and the Misses W. Morgan, D. Fis.hwick, M. Barton, I'. Wade, K. Garnham, and 13. Newcll.
