Crash over bridge •" An unusual accident occurred on the "Waipawa traffic bridge recently. A large mob of fine fat bullocks, belonging to Mr. L. Harris, Napier, was being driven over the bridge towards Waipukurau. When about half-way Over, two boys who had left their bicycles resting against the side of the bridge, rushed to rescue their machines. The action stampeded the cattle and they turned to go back. JOS jam occurred, with tKe result that eight of the beasts were pushed through the" upstream rail of the structure and they crashed down on to the riverbed bolow. They were all badly maimed and immediate steps were taken to put an end to their sufferings.
