Jo-day's North Island Report ■ Overcast conditions were reported at Auckland this morning, but blue' skies 'prevailed elsewhere in the North Island. Light to moderate variable breezes were reported. The barometer had continued to rise steadily. Temperatures at !"> o'clock were: Auckland 55 degrees, Tauranga f>3, Opotiki 45, Gisbonie 52, Napier 50, and Wellington 54. Rough seas were reported at. Cape Campbell and Wellington; elsewhere moderate or smooth. Last Night's Forecast General situation.--Tin- recent depression has passed away eastwards and an anticyclone of moderate intensity is advancing across the North Tasinan Sea. A fresh westerly depression, however, is now crossing south-eastern Australia. Forecast.—Winds: Light to moderate south-westerly lo westerly, veering gradually to north-westerly sooth oi Now Plymouth and Napier, and. later, freshening. Seas (.New Zealand waters) : rather rough on parts of the coast, north of Farewell Spit and south of Easi Cape, otherwise slight to moderate. Eastern Tasmau Sea': Moderate south-westerly winds in the northern portion, and west lo north-westerly in the southern; seas, moderate hut later wind and sea increasing in the southern portion. Weather: Fair to fine, in most districts, but a few isolated showers at first between Wairoa and East Cape, and in North Auckland; Inter unsettled conditions developing in South West land.
