LONDON, Sept. 28

The Manchester Guardian’s .Shanghai correspondent says that the .lapunese Ambassador presented the Chinese .Government with a series of demands, the most important of which

(1) Autonomy for the five northern provinces.

(2) Economic co-operation

(3) The right to station troops at various points along the Yangtse River.

(4) The right, to supervise Chinese schools in order to eradicate antiJapanese propaganda.

It; is understood that the Chinese have intimated that the proposals are not acceptable.
