PALMERSTON N., this day. On a charge of being intoxicated while in charge of a motor car in Rangitiker stveet. of the main business thoroughfares, on Saturday, John Simeon, aged 21 years, a, labourer, was to-day fined £lO by Mr. J. L. Stout, SAL, who also disqualified the defendant from holding a driver’s license for 12 months. The defendant was also fined 10s for failing t<* possess a driver’s license. As this Was a’first offence,, the magistrate, said he would let the defendant off with a fine, but drew his attention to cases in which such, offenders were being sent to prison.
