ACTRESS TO RETIRE
MISS ETTTEL lIARRI'MORE NEW YORK, Aug. 12. Miss Ethel Barrymore, one of the greatest actresses in the history of the Aiiicrican theatre, announced over the wireless to-night that she would not appear in a play again. She said that she had decided to retire to her home at Mamimmoek, near New York, where she would lie prepared at any time to give advice to youthful members of Imr profession.
Unfijce her brothers ,Tolm . and Lionel, she was never a success in Hollywood, which she did net like.
