A hive of bees swarmed in Upper Queen street, Auckland, on Friday. According to a bystander they were hovering about iust near the Newton East Manual Training School. It was thought that they would settle on a telegraph pole, but instead they settled on the front of a breakdown truck belonging to Jones and Gee which was standing outside their garage. Pupils from the high school did good work in enticing the bees into a box after finding the queen and fearlessly handling the bees. After some trouble the main part of the swarm was transported to a shallow box by the aid of hand-brushes arid dust-pans. No one was severely stung, although the bees were crawling all over the bystanders.
