F. J. Figg Photo. KAITARATAHI BRIDGE.—The driving of the two test piles preparatory to deciding on the site of the new Kaitaratahi bridge was carried out recently. This photograph shows the first pile being driven, and the proposed angle of the bridge will be approximately from that pile over to the left-hand bottom corner of the illustration. If this course is found to be satisfactory two abrupt corners on the approaches will be eliminated from the present main highway.
