Tlie New Zealand horses Hands Up and Loud Applause won decisively the Park Stakes and Grand Handicap respectively at the Hawkesbnry race meeting on Saturday. Hands Up came from well back to win the Park Stakes (one mile) with something in reserve. Odilion, who finished seventh, ran a fair race. Loud Applause scored an all-the-way win in the Hawkesbury Handicap in which Queen of Song, Onewhetu and Pludie finished in the. ruck. Silver Jubilee, who reappeared after a long spell, naturally monopolised public interest in the Flying Handicap, owing to recent good track work. He got away .-ell but ran indifferently, finishing in seventh place. The owner and stable connections were very disappointed with his showing. Golden Chance, who finished second in t'Fie Clarendon Handicap, came round the field into the straight with a withering late run and must have won in another 20 yards. Results were : Park Stakes.—Hands Ur>, 8.0 (Sliean), 1 ; Gipsy's Moon, 7.11 (Curby), 2; Idartthcon. 7.2 (Ward), 3. Fourteen started, including International. Raepata, ami Odilion. Won bv three-quarters of u length and half a'lengtli. Time. 1.40. Flying Handicap.-—Heroic Faith, 7.12 (Knox). 1; Gay Hawk. 7.12 (Cracknell), 2; Roley's Choice, 6.13 (Podmore), 3. Sixteen started, including Silver Jubilee and Distinguished. Won by half a head and a length. Time, 1.13. Hawkesbury Grand Handicap.—Loud Anplause, 7.10 (Knox). 1: Verberry, 8.0 (Callinan), 2l; Curator. 8.4 (James), 3. Thirteen started, including! Queen of Onewhetu, and Pladie. Won by a lencth and half a length. Time, 2.11 A. Kowtow was unplaced in the Maiden Handicap. The first, division was won by Aerial Post. Lion Hunt and Lanaiinska were 1111nlaced in the second division, which was won by Padiogram. Lion Hunt, met with serious interference. Cyril]ian and Royal Helena were unplaced in the Three-Year-Old Handicap, which was won by Fakenham. Golden Chance was second, in the Clarendon Handicap, which was won by Covnac.
