YOUNG FARMERS' CLUB
TOLAGA BAY BRANCH INAUGURAL MEETING (Special to the Herald.) TOLAGA BAY, this day. Convened by Mr. E'. M. Bates, instructor in agriculture, the inaugural meeting of the Tolaga Bay branch of the Young Farmers' Club was held on Friday night in the Tolaga Bay High School room. Accompanying Mr. Bates was the fields superintendent, Mr. C. J. Ilamblyn, who gave a very interesting address on the work and aims of the Young Farmers' Clubs, which were formed, he said, to foster the knowledge of farming among the younger men, who would bo the farmers of the future, and to disseminato the more scientific information acquired bv the officers of the Department of Agriculture and those others who specialise in particular branches. The meeting was well attended, and officers for the ensuing year were elected as follows: President, Mr. H. R. Irving; vice-president, Mr. F. M. Geary; chairman, Mr. G. L. A. Donald ; secretary-treasurer, Mr. W. M. o''Connell. It was decided to hold over the election of three committee members until the next meeting, to be held on Tuesday, October 20, and to hold succeeding meetings on the third Tuesday in each month.
