A remarkable escape from serious injury was experienced by the six occupants of a motor car on the Arapuni- Cambridge main highway when the vehicle skidded off the road and down a 70ft. bank into the Waikttto River. The motor car, which was driven by Mr. T. Gedge, of Arapuni, skidded off the road and fell practically straight into the gorge, coming to rest in the river. Its career was arrested by some rocks near the, bank, where the water was only about 3ft. deep.
