STAGED SUICIDE ATTEMPT
THEORY AT INQUEST LONDON, Aug. S. The opinion that the man "had staged an attempted suicide to alarm his wife" -was expressed by a police constable at; the inquest at Southend yesterday on Stanley Ernest Thomas, 35, of Acacia drive, Thorpe Bay, Essex, who was found gassed in, a deck chair in his kitchen. A verdict of death from gas poisoning was recorded, the coroner, Mr. H. J. Jefferies', adding there was no evidence to show that Thomas intended, to take his life. The widow. Mrs. Frances Thomas, said that her husband was of a nervous disposition. Last Friday, because he did not some home at a reasonable hour, she went to her parents' home. She returned next day and found her husband dead.
