Messrs. Miuray, Roberts and Company. Limited, are in receipt of the following cable message from London: "The wool sales closed firm, with competition keen, and the French buying more freely. Compared with last closing rates, crossbred greasy fino advanced 7J, to 10 per cent; medium and coarse, 10 per cent; .slipe, fine, 5 per cent; coarse to medium, 10 per cent; scoured. 5 to 10 per cent. Quotations are : 60/64's New Zealand merino, yielding 48 per cent, 13d (none offering); 56's, yielding 64 per cent, cent, IOJd (10£d) : 48/50's, mixed prep, and carding, yielding 72 per cent, lOd (9ihl) ; 46/48 % mixed prep, and carding, yielding 74 per cent. 9Jd (9£d) ; 44/46's prep., yielding 76 per cent, 9Jd (9£d) ; 44/46'5." carding, yielding 74 per cent, 9|d (9£d); 40/44's! yielding 75 per cent, 9J.d (9£d) : 36/40's, "yielding 76 per cent (none)." Tho Bank of New Zealand advises receipt of the following cable message from London dated September 25: "The sales closed firm for all kinds of wool. Ewes: The demand for light-weights is good. Lambs: There is a moderate demand, Prices are firm.
