SHORTAGE OF WHISKY

SUPPLIES OF SCOTCH RATIONING POSSIBLE (Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, this day

A shortage in supplies of Scotch whisky at Homo is likely to lead to important developments, according to a letter received by a local merchant from a large exporter, who considers that, rationing may be adopted. The shortage is due to two chief factors, the curtailment, mi production from 1930 and tho improved consumption,, particularly through America's reentry in the trade. By the end, of this 'year, it is expected that the American market will have taken 5,000,000 gallons in 12 months, while reliable judges consider that if will rise in two years to 10,000,000 gallons.
