WORLD PEACE CAUSE CONVENTION APPROV ED" (British Official Wireless.) Reed. noon. RUGBY, Sept. 24. The signatures of 18 countries have been appended to an international convention for the use of broadcasting in the cause of peace. The convention, which was given approval at Geneva, deals with the prevention of untruthful broadcasting on international affairs and especially with the prevention of inflammatory broadcasting in times of international crisis. The Italian delegation, which had taken a prominent part in the discussions, but was withdrawn from the conference on Tuesday, and the Hungarian delegation, withheld their signatures. The Soviet signed with reservations. Viscount Cranborne, who signed on behalf of Britain, described the convention as the first step for the use. of broadcasting in the cause of peace. *
