BASIC RATES OF PAY
COURT CONSIDERATION PLEADERS APPOINTED (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON Inst night. The Arbitration Court will sit in Wellington on October 10 and subsequent days to determine the basic rates of wages. Inquiries made indicated that the representation of the respective parties has not yet been finalised. It is learned, however, that among those who will be taking a prominent part in iho proceedings will be Mr. T. O. Bishop, secretary of the New Zealand Employers’ Federation, and Mr. .1. Robinson, of Dunedin, secretary of the Otago Trades and Labour Council. Mr. J. Roberts, secretary of the New Zealand Waterside Workers’ Federation, is also likely to appear on behalf of workers in several organisations.
