STRANGE VESSEL ASHORE
STRANDED IN FIJI INVESTIGATION EY POLICE (•Reed. Sept. 24. 1.30 p.m.) SUVA. Sept, 24. A strange vessel, ■believed to be a Japanese sampan, is aground off the Lambnsa River. The Oovornmeht yacht Pioneer, with police and customs officials aboard, left for Lambasn hist 'evening to -ensure compliance with the quarantine, customs and immigration regulations. An unconfirmed report states that the crew of the stranded vessel landed and .went to a Chinese store and purchased poods, paying in Fiji currency, and later lauded at Laucala"lsland and chopped down a coconut tree.
