CARROLL SHIELD GAME NO REPLY FROM RUAHINE No reply has been received by the l-overtv Ray Hockey Association from the Ruahine Hockey Association as to whether it intended sending a team to Gisborne to play for the Lady Carroll Shield, regained by Poverty Hay last Saturday. . , Ruahine had a challenge in before til* Wairoa match, and on Monday, aftei Poverty Bay's success against Wairoa, Mr V. Butler, secretary of the loverty Bay Hockey Association, telegraphed Ruahine asking if that association intended to keep its engagement, and stating that next Saturday was the only available date. An urgent reply was asked in time for Monday night s meeting, but none came to hand, and nothing has been heard shut Therefore,, it has been decided to proceed with the arrangement of ot her fixtures for .Saturday. Napier will Hny Kia Toa. Old Girls (Wairoa) will play ■mother Gisborne team and Wa.au. men {Frasertown) will play Caledonian. The following team will Kia Toa:-Goal, Miss E. Patty; fullbncks Miss J. Allen and Mrs. Watts: half hacks, Misses B Miller, J. TJamnw and M. Dunsmore; forwards, Missl. Petersen, Mrs. Nicol, Miss E Bell, Mrs. Fangwell and Miss A. Lloyd; reserves, «£ J. King and T. Petersen. Ihe team will practice to-morrow inormnK. The draw for Saturday has been arranged as follows : - ildiog-Napier v. Kia Toa, No 1 grS! 2 p.m!; Wairoa Old Girls v. G.sborne Old Girls, No. 1 ground, 3 p.m Men.—Waiau (Frasertown) v. Caledonian (Gisborne), No. 2 ground,3ip.m. In the evening, a, dance will be held in the Blue Boom, and the presentation ol tvonhies won during the season will be made at this function, which will conclude a very successful season.
