Last Saturday evening Captain Sutnliffe gave' a very interesting address to the.-dwellers of P.artlett's on the social' conditions of the English coal mines, having spent a considerable tunc (hereon Church Army work. His sermon, which lie illustrated by 'showing some beautUuJ slides depicting the life of Jesus Clinst. was verv much appreciated hy those present. 'Captain Satellites children s services, which lie holds after school hours, are very popular with the children, and the attendance has increased to 74. He is lengthening Ins stay at Bartlett's until September 213. The first "completed married staff cottage is 7 now occupied by Mr. F. Mulligan, who has moved over from Boyd's camp, where he has been living since he arrived from the South Island. The newly-formed Girls' Club held its first club night on Monday, when there was a very! good attendance. Mrs. W. L Bell apd Mrs. J.* French were responsible", for the arrangements of the organised games, and" a very evening was the result.
