To-day's North Island Ecport Blue skies were reported this morning at Wellington, Napier, and in the Bay of Plenty, but overcast conditions prevailed elsewhere in the North Island. Bight to fresh northerly breezes were general. The barometer showed little movement. Temperatures at 9 o clock were: Auckland 60 degrees, Tauranga and Wellington 59, and Gisborne 57, Fast Cape and Napier _ 54. Rough seas were reported at hnliri; elsewhere moderate or smooth. Winds: Light to moderate north-easterly to northerly from Nelson and Marl borough northwards, freshening somewhat over the North Island: elsewhere, light, and variable, hut with southerlies prevailing at first. Seas (Now Zealand waters): Rather rough north of Fast Cape and in parts of the Cook Strait area.; otherwise slight to moderate. Fasten! Tasman .Sen: Moderate to Ivesli north-easterly winds in the northern portion: light to moderate easterlies or southerlies in the southern portion; seas moderate. Weather: For the most part fair and mild, bid* cloudy or misty at times and some sealtered rains probable, move especially in 1 lie North Island, and the northern and eastern portions of the South Island.
