! PRESSURE OF BUSINESS The pressure of work on the Arbitration Court, is causing the Government .some concern, according la a statement by the- Minister of Labour, the ITnn.- ff. T. Armstrong. _ln an interview in Christchurch the Minister said that the pressure of work was causing delay in compensation cases and also in industrial cases. "Something will have to bo done to relieve the court of part of its responsibilities," said Mr. Armstrong. "Howfar it will be possible to go I do"not know. It is possible that a sopiu,ite Compensation Court might be set up. Tin's might also assist the Arbitration Court in industrial eases."

There was a considerable increase in accidents. These totalled 149,690, including 843 fatalities. The total was an increase of 32 per cent comparer; with 1933. This, it is sta*ted, was a regrettable but usual accompaniment of improving trade. It is stated that employers are realising the benefit of short intervals
during both morning and afternoon spells of work and provision of rc- ' freshments, especially during the morning spell.
