NEW CHIEF DETECTIVE
POST AT AUCKLAND
(Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. Senior-Detective S. G. Hall, of Am*-1 land, has been appointed as chief detective in the detective stall' at Auckland, in succession to Inspector .). Sweeney, who was i'avcwriled last night and leaves this evening to take charge of the Wellington police district. _ Mr. Hall joined the force in Dunedin in 1908 and was appointed as a senior detective in 1953, when lie was transferred from Oamaru.
