The riding advisory committee of the Cook County Council reported to the council to-day having surveyed at a meeting yesterday tlm expenditure in each of the ridings, together with the estimates, and except for the I’akarae riding, which .suffered much from Hood damage, all accounts were in a sound position.
The following recommendation from the finance committee was adopted by the Cook County Council to-day: —'‘If was resolved, on the motion oi' Cr. AI. T. 1). Hall, that in cases where ratepayers are operating under a stay order, and rates arc paid after the date for the imposition of the 10 per cent additional rate, a rebate or remission of the difference between 10 per cent and the bank rate of interest be allowed, where no other rates are outstanding."
