An interesting association with New Zealand was claimed by Sir James SteelMaitland, who arrived at Auckland by th'e Tamaroa to settle permanently in the Dominion. Sir James said his grandfather, Sir James Maitland, was one of the first to send a large consignment of loch Leven trout from Scotland to New Zealand.
