OFFICERS FOR THE YEAR GOOD FINANCIAL POSITION SHOW STEWARDS ELECTED The annual general meeting of the Poverty Bay Poultry, Pigeon, and Cage Bird Society was held last evening, there being a good attendance of members, and Mr. C. L. Fogden taking the chair. In moving the adoption .of the report dnd balance sheet, the chairman commented that the finances seemed to be in a sound condition, thanks to the work of the committee and of the retiring executive officers. The fine spirit of co-operation shown by all members bad made the year not only successful from a financial point of vievt, but also a most pleasant one for the office-bearers. The chairman also referred to the successes attained by several members in shows at other centres, as indicating the high quality of the breeds cultivated in Poverty BaV. He offered his congratulations to those who had shown initiative in connection with outside shows, and also thanked exhibitors for their support of the association's own exhibition. Office-bearers for the ensuing year were appointed as follow: —Patron, Mr. T. Crosby; president and chairman of committee, Mr. C. L. Fogden; honorary treasure**, Mr. A. Wood; honorary Secretary, Mr. J. F. Forster; honorary assistant secretary, Mr. J. ,T. Hartley; Honorary auditor, Mr. M. R. Fry; committee, Messrs. J. Dunlop, A. Mitchell, A. It. Nichoson, J. Mills, D. Jdnes, T. Prince, J. J. Jackson, C. Lloyd, G. Scott* M. P. Kippenbergcr, J. Dym.ond, and E. Foster.
Th'6 following appointments were made'for poultry sections at the AgriSpHal and Pastoral Show: Poultry stewards, Mr. J. J. Jackson, chief and Messrs. C. Lloyd, J. J. Hartley and A. Mitchell; pigeon stewards;.Mr. J. F. Forster, chief steward, add Messrs G. Foote, W. Marshall, and F. Gteen.
The meeting endorsed a proposal to admit as associate members of the society any members of the public interested in poultry, but not active as exhibitors. Votes of thanks \irere accorded to the patron, Mr. Crosby, the honorary treasurer, Mr. A. Woods, the honorary secretary, Mr. J. F. Forster, and the honorary auditor, Mr. M. R. Fry; also to the press, to the donors of trophies, apd' to fill members of the public who bad assisted the association during the year.'
In proposing the vote of thanlcs to tile honorary treasurer and secretary rfepectivcly, the chairman drew attention to the auditor’s compliments to these officers on the management of tie finances.
