PARIS, July 30.

Figures published to-day of the French census taken last March show that since 1931 the population of Paris has decreased by 70.571 to 2,500,1<!5.

The population of Greater Paris, that is to sav the !4oine department, increased during the above period by 31,70 Sto 4,019,232. Exactly 100 years ago Greater Paris had 1,000,000 inhabitants.

Paris is the sixth biggest city in the world, coming after London, New York, Tokio, Berlin and Shanghai. Greater London in 3934 had an estimated population of S,-103,000.
