Fairly heavy vain l’oll in the Wairarapa district, on Saturday night and to-day, about, it inches being recorded in Masterton up to G p.m. to-u iglit. Flooding of low-lying areas occurred in parts of tlie district, notably between Cartertrou and Greytown, near the Waiohinc River and in the lower reaches of the Kuarnahaua, but these areas are. always subject to Hoods, with heavy rain. An area' near the pa at Martinborough and at Tahawa were also Hooded to some extent, but the water was reported to be dropping again tonight following the cessation of rain.
